Panel Discussion: The resurgence of Flint Entrepreneurial Ecosystem can be explained with the involvement of various stakeholders working together to provide resources/expertise to the community to create, grow and sustain their innovation/business. By opening their doors and sharing these resources with the local community, Flint has been making significant strides in the awareness and growth of entrepreneurship. Why and how this is happening in a depressed region will showcase to other entrepreneurs how working with a number of organization will help them in their entrepreneurship needs. Special guests include:

Brandee Cooke, Director of Operations @ 100k Ideas Adham Habbas, Analyst @ SkyPoint Ventures Heather Kale, General Manager @ The Ferris Wheel Sebastian Alvim, Program Director @ XLerateHealth The resurgence of entrepreneurship in Flint:

  1. The creation of the Ferris Wheel building, which is a building that welcomes the community to come see what is happening in the space. The building provides a number of resources to the community to help them take their idea to the market.

  2. 100K ideas is a consultancy business boutique for big thinkers. Anyone with an idea can work side by side for free with top analysts and Project managers in creating a business model and a company. 100K ideas taps into the university systems (Baker, Mott, U of M Flint and Kettering University) to hire students to work on a number of projects.

  3. Skypoint Ventures is a
    VC firm, focuses on the local entrepreneurs and connecting them with regional, state of Michigan and nationwide networks.

  4. XlerateHealth is a healthcare accelerator and offers a number of educational programs to the community to bring their healthcare idea to the market to improve patient care.
